If you are new to St John’s Presbyterian Church, or new to church in general, we hope we can provide you with the information you need to make you feel at home and welcomed.

Location & Directions

St John’s is located in the heart of White Rock at the corner of George and Russell Street. There is easy access to transit through the Metro Transport Bus. The Bus stop is within short walking from the Church on 152nd street.  We have a parking lot next to the church, and street parking is easily available on Sunday mornings.

Sunday Worship Services

We gather at 10:30 on Sunday mornings for worship. Worship is central to the life of the church, where we spend quality time with God, and with each other. We worship God in our day-to- day lives as individuals, but there is something special about worshipping God together.

Our traditional Sunday morning worship services include high quality music ministry to lead the congregation in singing, accompanied by piano and organ. The service follows the format of the gathering for worship and preparing our hearts to hear God's Word, hearing God’s Word to us, responding to the Word and then taking that message with us to shine the light and love of Jesus in the world.

Sacraments

We have two sacraments in the Presbyterian Church: Baptism and Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper. There are no set times for Baptisms – they happen when needed – but we celebrate together the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, on the first Sunday of March, June, October and December. We also celebrate the Lord’s supper on Good Friday.

Dress Code

There is no dress code at St John’s Presbyterian Church. Come as you are.  You will find suits and dresses, jeans, shorts and golf shirts. The service is usually about an hour long.

Fellowship after our Worship Service

Following the service everyone is welcome to come for coffee and tea in the centre Hall, where we share time mingling and connecting with each other in laughter or care and concern.

What We Believe

We are a community of believers who celebrate the love of the triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in our lives. We worship, we pray, we care for each other, we grow in Christ and we share God’s love with the world.
